Mile 1.5: travois tracks of the Old North Trail, “easily traceable today.” The exact script of a 1954 bus tour.

Every driver, chef, agent, and the night watchman, by name — the season before Grandpa's.

“To our old drivers of former years… this book is dedicated.” It now includes him.
